Concrete Skulls

We make our own molds. We begin by prepping a prototype for silicone molding. We use a super elastic silicone that picks up every detail, and lasts for many pulls.

Once our custom silicone mold is cured, we demold the original. Then, we let the mold reach final curing before pouring our first casts. We cast these babies with cement, using slight variations of mixing to achieve a smooth cast. Sometimes we get less than perfect results, but that just adds to the look!

Once the cement has set, we demold for final curing. We let each piece reach it's ideal cure and set before moving along to the next step.

After curing, we lay down 2 coats of masonry primer. After both coats have been properly dried it's time for the best part. Painting!

The most fun part of the process is bringing these stone babies to life with the airbrush. For our Standard Paint Job, we low-light cracks, crevices, and cavities with blacks, browns, or burgundies. No two are exactly alike in tone or shading, so you're always getting a one-of-a-kind piece! With our Custom Paint Jobs, each skull is uniquely colored based on the inspiration the casting inspires. 

We want these skulls to last for many years, whether indoors or outdoors, Our final step ensures the longevity of these products with 2 coats of sealer, to help protect against water damage and paint chippage. After full curing of the sealer, these little skull babies are ready to find new homes!
